Afrigator - Africa’s Social Media Aggregator Is One Year Old

Afrigator is a social media aggregator and directory built especially for African digital citizens who publish and consume content on the Web. Afrigator attempts to use social media tools and technologies to showcase the best digital content that the African continent has to offer, ranging from syndicated news feeds to blog posts, podcasts, videos and images.

The site started with two guys named, Justin Hartman and Mike Stopforth who later hired a designer named Mark Forrester and formed a partnership together with Stii Pretorius to produce Africa’s No. 1 Media Aggregator.

Within the past year, Afrigator has developed web tools and technologies, thus improving the site’s functionality. Here are some major milestones:

The site has been reviewed by sites such as Read/WriteWeb, VentureBeat.com, and Killer Startups amongst others and is dominated by sites from South Africa. In the future, Afrigator plans to aggressively tap into a more accurate reflection of social media in the African continent.
