NaijaPals - Nigerian Social Networking Site With A Twist

Have you ever been to any social networking site where you have the opportunity to make ‘confessions’ and ‘fight’ with members? Sounds funny, right? That’s what you get when you visit Naijapals.com

Naijapals is a growing Nigerian social networking site that allows members to post confessions or straight talk on any matter of social, political, emotional, or personal interests and get responses from members. This feature of the site -which has over 40, 000 members - is perhaps the most popular attraction for using the service.

Here’s an example of a straight talk that has gotten varied responses:

which is best - the slim girls or the booty girls??

Another interesting feature of the site is The Park, which typically mimics the ‘conventional’ motor parks in Nigeria - where arguments and fights take place. Here, members can post arguments (called ‘fights’) in the park and another member can oppose or support the argument by casting a vote and/or leaving a comment for their favorite party.

Here’s an example of an ended argument:

WHO LIES A LOT? (Guys or Ladies)

From my own opinion and from the opinion and LITTLE xperience i have, i think GUYS LIE A LOT.
They lie bout evry thing xpecially TO THEIR GIRL FRIENDS…..Just recently, a frnd of mine(GUY) told me he was out of town and SUPRISE SURPRISE!!!! I saw him @ ikeja just yesterday!!!!!! GUYS ARE FOUND OF LYING!!!!

I personally found these features interesting and fun, which in a great way reflects what social networking could mean, if these activities where carried out by friends in the hood. Besides, Nigeria’s culture and understanding of social networking goes deeper than just meeting people online and sharing photos, music, etc

As in other social networking sites, Naijapals allows its users to create online profiles, groups, blogs, photo galleries, videos, etc and interact with each other using nudges and messaging facilities. So if you want a real taste of what social networking means, Naijapals is what you need.
