Nigerian music has not only spread across the world (we now watch Nigerian music videos on Youtube), but soon Nigerian music lyrics would be seen on the Internet as websites now showcase lyrics from Nigerian artists for free.

Sites such as nigerianlyrics.net, naijalyrics.net, and niglyrics.com are providing Nigerians and non-Nigerians who are intersted in Nigerian music with the lyrics of their favourite Nigerian songs built as an online database. NigerianLyrics.net is however, the first functional Nigerian lyrics website and Naijalyrics.net claims to have over 170 Nigerian lyrics online.

With these lyrics sites, users can submit the lyrics of songs they know and can also browse and search for songs by artist, track name or lyrics. Users also have the chance of listening to the songs while reading the lyrics online.

However, these sites are yet to be developed fully as some of their pages are not accessible. In terms of design and interface, NigerianLyrics.net has a more appealing look, and is built the Open Source application.

Ultimately, I think that the success of these sites would depend largely on how well they are able to market their sites respectively, in other to attract advertisement.
