Sturvs Launches Nigerian Web Search Engine
Sturvs, the Nigerian social bookmarking site has launched a web search engine. The site which was a year old last month, has continued to impress us with exciting features. Sturvs, Nigeria’s first social bookmarking site, is a Web 2.0 sharing and voting website where users can share music, videos, articles, read news and also promote events and services.
Sturvs Search searches the entire web for whatever word or phrase you give, and also displays results from Sturvs.com at the right hand column. It can serve as an efficient search engine for Nigerian content, because you know whatever you search for, you are showed what Sturvs.com has to offer for that search.
The Sturvs.com box to the right shows the top 6 search results for every keyword/phrase (by number of votes).
The Sturvs Search Engine, which is on its beta version has a simple design like the Google Search page. The site’s contents and search allows users to search for Nigerian stuffs found around the Web, especially in Nigerian newspaper websites, social media sites such as Youtube, various Nigerian blogs and other places. Users get the very latest Nigerian content from all over the internet brought together in one place.
Last October, Sturvs launched the first ever Nigerian facebook application that now has about 100 daily active users. The site is owned by US-based Antigravity Inc.,
