Join our Facebook Social Group for Entrepreneurs

For some time now, we created a social group for web entrepreneurs on Facebook, the most popular social networking site in the world. The group currently has about 25 members who benefit from an online community of social entrepreneurs.

Our hope is to build a web community of people interested in start-ups and ideas and give them an opportunity to network using a well-known social utility such as Facebook. If you are yet to join this community, we encourage you to do so. That way, you can meet web entrepreneurs, generate business ideas and develop innovative start-ups.

In the future, we shall create a business networking space here on StartupsNigeria, where users can interact with other business-minded people and thus build a web community of entrepreneurs. You can join the StartupsNigeria Group on Facebook here. It’s FREE.

Join our LinkedIn Business Group for Entrepreneurs

Since we know that more business-like people prefer to use LinkedIn, we decided to create a business group for entrepreneurs. The group has a growing number of 20+ members who engage in discussions around innovation and entrepreneurship.

As with the Facebook group, this initiative is young and has potentials for growth, so we urge you to join, meet and network with other like-minded people. Our hope is to build a web network of business-minded and professional individuals who are interested about innovation and entrepreneurial ideas. You can join the StartupsNigeria Group on LinkedIn here. It’s FREE!

P.S: When you join, we’ll need to approve your request, and this may take between 12-24 hours, as the case may be.

Hmm! What an impressive achievement, I guess the site deserve it really. Loy, I wish you all the best in your Alexa Top 100 000 websites target.

Well, what I can suggest is that a FORUM could be integrated to this blog. Now the idea of the community at Facebook and LinkedIn seems pretty great, but why not also having a community right here on the blog. In this ago of Web 2.0, user generated contents is what is now driving the Internet of today, which is while FORUMS keep rocking the Internet.
Loy, I guess this is a little suggestion to look ponder over.

    Cheers!

This is a great idea, by any standards, I would like to wish you a very successful time as you encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in Nigeria. As a piece of information, I am pleased to inform that we CHAMPIONS FOR NIGERIA (CFN) and ECO-BUILD PROJECTS, in collaboration with some Nigerian Government Agency are planning a great event to commemorate the anniversary of Nigerian Indepndence. To make the event truly great, we are using it to recognize all the ‘unsung heroes’ of Africa. The Programme is titled: The Age of Achievement in Africa. It is scheduled for London from 26 September to 01 October 2010.
The idea of celebrating achievers in Africa is to highlight the present state of frustration and areas of need by young, unknown inventors and creative individuals, Small and Medium Entreprises (SME), community groups as well as corporate entities - with the aim of attracting possible funding and collaborative support. It is a great event and we are presently finalising issues concerning the actual venue and other attendant logistics. It is our hope that organisations like ‘StartUpNigeria.com’ would play a major role in helping to identify every innovative and creative inventor to enable us give additional support and recognition to them. Prizes, Awards, Exhibitions and Citations would be held to honour every recognized individual, public or corporate institution that has contributed significantly to the development of Nigeria or anywhere in Africa.

    Alexa ranking? Hmm
Why not based on the number of subscribed feeds or unique visits?

@Edundayo - Thanks for your ideas. I did mention that…”In the future, we shall create a business networking space here on StartupsNigeria, where users can interact with other business-minded people and thus build a web community of entrepreneurs.”

Is that what you mean by FORUM?

@Ade - Thanks for droping by. The CHAMPIONS FOR NIGERIA project sounds like a huge one. Let’s see how we can work together to build entrepreneurs from Nigeria. It’ll also be great to see StartupsNigeria get involved with your upcoming event…Let’s see!

@Kayode - Even though we know that Alexa is not a great resource for Web ranking, I think that it would be a good thing to see this blog get ranked on the Top 100 000 websites in the world.

However, the site has 1000+ feed subscribers and over 400 daily unique visitors on the average.
