Startups Nigeria is the leading technology blog for startups, innovation and entrepreneurship with an international focus on Nigeria. Since April 2008, we have been tracking tech trends within Africa, with particular focus on the Nigerian social media and web space.
With a fast-growing community of web & mobile enthusiasts, start-up founders, bloggers and social media players all around the world, we are poised to continue providing web and mobile content that would contribute to a vibrant community.
We are currently seeking a team of web and mobile enthusiasts to serve as mobile/web columnists for StartupsNigeria.com
The details below gives an idea of what the roles will look like:
Role 1: Mobile 2.0 Blogger
- Tracking Nigeria’s mobile industry as well as interviews of major players
- Reviewing mobile gadgets, phones, accesories, PDAs, games, etc within Nigeria’s mobile space
- Publishing latest news, trends and events within Nigeria’s mobile industry
Role 2: Web 2.0 Blogger
- Tracking Nigeria’s web industry as well as interviews of web entrepreneurs
- Reviewing web applications, technologies, innovations, etc within Nigeria’s web/social media space
- Publishing latest news, trends and events within Nigeria’s web 2.0 industry
Role 3: Event 2.0 Blogger
- Managing our user-generated event hosting site for technology, telecoms, web, mobile, social media, entrepreneurship, and other related events within Nigeria and around the world.
- Liasing with event managers & organizers for invitation to cover their events via live blogging on StartupsNigeria.com or even micro-blogging via twitter.com
- Publishing reviews, news and interviews of key participants at the events.
The Person
- Should have a strong passion for the new media space and can contribute unique & valuable content to our unique audience.
- Should possess good writing and communicative skills
- Should be versatile with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques in order to maximize our Content Management System (CMS)
- Should be an expert in his/her area of interest
- Should have regular internet connection
