Naijoo.Tv - Nigerian Version of Yahoo! TV?

If you watch videos from Yahoo! TV, you’re probably going to enjoy Naija’s own video sharing community called Naijoo.Tv, an online video sharing site that allows you to upload, view and share video clips. When I first heard the name, I thought it would look like Yahoo! TV, but far from it.

Naijoo Tv is similar to other video viewing websites such as YouTube, but with several differences. The site features full videos in a variety of categories, including Comedy, Covers, Dance, Hip-Hop, Interviews, Movies, Pop, Programs, R&B, Reggae, Remix, Rock, Traditional (Edo, Yoruba, Ibo), US Hip Hop, US R&B, Worship. Original content is uploaded to the site by independent video creators and the Nigerian community.

tSarite - Social Networking Is Getting Better in Nigeria

I’ve probably seen 1000 social networks around the world. No, I’m not kidding. Maybe more. But the thing is:of all the social networks I’ve seen, I only use Facebook. Now, a new social network has just flashed on my radar, and really looks promising, and perhaps could make it into my list of top 10 social networks.

With this platform, users of tSarite have a digital repository of artefacts which can be private or shared within communities. The site allows users to join up and create a variety of communities. All elements and artefacts can have access privileges attached determining who can view them.

Startups Nigeria Is A “Great African Tech Blog”!

Some weeks back, Erik Hersman at WhiteAfrican.com compiled an interesting list of African tech blogs he follows. In that post, Startups Nigeria was listed as one of the 30 Great African Tech Blogs.

What’s more?

Erik thinks a country-specific tech blog, such as StartupsNigeria.com would help Africans generally to know what’s happening in the tech scene in each country/region. That way, we can read about tech (if possible) from every country in Africa. Even from Chad, Botswana and Zambia.

I agree with him and look forward to seeing startups sites for startups from all the 52 countries in Africa. Is that possible?

Update: StartupIvoire reviews tech startups from Cote d’Ivoire.

Naijalingo now lets you listen to those slangwords:-)

Naijalingo has just released a new feature that lets you listen to the pronunciation of words on the word page. So when you add a new word on Naijalingo, you can upload a recording for the word.

Sounds interesting, doesn’t it?

Naijalingo currently has over 600 words, which means that all the recordings for each word has to be done. So where are those guys and girls who want to be a radio star, but couldn’t make it through the auditions? Here is your chance to be heard on the web;-)
