WebTrendsNg.com - Keep Track of Web Trends in Nigeria
WebTrendsNg.com is a new web analysis website that allows you to keep tab of happenings on the internet as it relates to Nigeria. The idea is to make understanding and usage of the internet in Nigeria more beneficial for business decision and planning.
The site recently started a survey tagged Nigerian Internet Usage Survey to know how Nigerians use the internet and what they do. The survey relies on a poll to get votes from users on the different categories. While this is a good approach, it might not prove very effective, since there’s no web analysis tool to measure Internet Usage in Nigeria.
However, I think it could help businesses in Nigeria determine where and when they should spend their money on online ads, as Nigerians become more aware of online advertising media platforms.
Anchored by an experienced Web developer & Strategist, Sheriff Shittu O. (aka, POSSICON), WebTrendsNg is a subsidiary of Unleashed Business Concepts (UBC), a technology solution and research company based in Lagos Nigeria.
My take
Well, I think a web tracking analysis tool will make more sense if we’re to be accurate with web analysis. The site seems to rely on Alexa for web stats, and we all know that Alexa has not been accurate with web analysis.
I’ll be impressed if WebTrendsNg develops a web tracking tool to analyse Nigeria’s web trends, rather than rely on people’s feedback and the all not-functioning Alexa.
What are your thoughts?
Hi Loy,
Thanks for your post. I really appreciate your comment and opinion on our method. Currently we work with Alexa ranking and survey but in the nearest future we shall integrate our technology to bring better insight for decision making to our audience.
The current survey “Nigerian Internet Usage” which is located at here , is made available online and offline (field survey). With field survey, we hope to reach others who are not very active on the internet.
Once again, thank you.
Lets encourage him and other people to do more for the country and the continent!
@Possicon - Thanks for dropping by:) You’re doing a great deal of work and I hope these web trends showcase Nigeria’s web industry to the world.
I have a suggestion though: You might find using Google insights for search very helpful for your research and analysis for Nigerian search words.
Btw, when is your webtrendsmag launching?
Keep up the good work, pal!
