With the Telco Services integration interface, subscribers are able to make payment for telephone bills online via any channel (SMS – for GSM operators, Voice XML – for both SMS supported and non-SMS supported phones), Internet, POS, ATM, etc. Included in this service is the bank outlet that enables non-eTranzact subscribers to make payment for prepaid and postpaid telephone bills.

How Does eTranzact Work?

1. Go to any of the participating banks where you have an account and request an eTranzact card.
2. Fill and return the form provided at the bank.
3. Activate your card by using the web or your mobile phone with the information provided at the bank or web after registration
4. To activate your card on the web visit www.etranzactuk.com and click on the activate your card now button.
5. Fill the required fields on the page that comes up.
6. Download eTranzact mCommerce menu to your phone, using a gprs enable phone visit http://mobile.etranzact.com

What’s Unique?

The eTranzact card can be used to topup your phone, effect a bank transfer from your phone and pay for bills. I think this is a cool way of effective payment transactions from Nigeria. The card can also be used at ATMs, POS (Point of Sales), and on the Internet.

However, I’m not sure of the card’s security features, that is, whether or not it’s a pin and chip card. With an emerging electronic payment system in Nigeria, one would be skeptical about using such cards, unless they are sure of its security features.
