HiTV, D’Banj Present Koko Mansion Reality TV Show
Nigeria music superstar, D’Banj has just added another intellectual property to his collection. Popularly known as the ‘Koko Master’, D’Banj now owns ‘Koko Mansion’, a TV Reality Show in collaboration with HiTV, Nigeria’s multi-channel digital satellite pay TV service.
We heard the gist a few days ago, but thought it was a rumour. It was officially announced at a press conference held on Friday, April 17, 2009 at Terra Kulture, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Koko Mansion (see Facebook page) is a reality TV show which will exclusively be aired on HiTV beginning from the 1st of June. If you are in the UK, you can watch ‘Koko Mansion’ on the HiTV Channel on Sky Channel 204.
The idea of the show is to have 12 girls (kokolettes) who will reside in a state-of–the-art mansion somewhere in Lagos city, while living lavishly as any Kokolette should. For several weeks, the young women will be groomed and tested in various Diva tasks and activities in order to determine the one with the greatest Koko Virtues.
In case you didn’t know, a Kokolette is a “fully endowed woman with intellectual property” such as the high-class Nigerian women, especially those in Nollywood. The show will exclusively portray the true lifestyle of the principal character – D’Banj as a celebrity with a lot of razzmatazz.
The Kokolette who emerges as the winner will win a Chris Aires Diamond ring and a brand new convertible car plus 5 million naira. Most importantly, the winner will be D’Banj’s Kokolette for a year and will be his companion at public events both within and outside Nigeria.
But when will D’Banj get tired of his Kokolettes?
D’Banj has become a sex symbol and very popular in recent years, thanks to his hit tracks, Tongolo, Why Me, and Igwe. The superstar has even taken his stardom onto the www, with his Facebook page having over 17 000 fans) and an ever-growing community on Myspace.
Personaly, I’m a fan of D’Banj and I think he’s building a brand for himself, not just as a singer and songwriter, but as an entertainer and entrepreneur. If you visit his personal website, you’ll find that he has intellectual property of the word ‘Koko’, which is often used to describe something hard. D’Banj, the Koko Master as he’s often called owns ‘Koko Gallery’, ‘Koko Community’, ‘Koko Media’, ‘Koko News’ and now ‘Koko Mansion’. It has been rumoured that he would soon float ‘Koko Mobile’.
We won’t be surprised if he becomes Nigeria’s Richard Branson, who’s Virgin Brand has become a global phenomenon.

i really do not understand what values and principles koko mansion is going to bring or add to our decaying society. the ideal is ok but if it doesn,t help people morally then it is a waste of time. watever, girls, be very careful the way u go crazy about the kind of entertinement we have these days.
