Naijapals Launches Mobile Version

Naijapals has just launched a mobile version of the site just a couple of hours ago. This means that Naijapals is the first social networking site in Nigeria to launch a mobile site where users can connect with their friends from their mobile phones.
The mobile site located at m.naijapals.com is locked so that no PC can access it (except PDAs and mobile phones). If you visit the site on the web, you’ll be shown a blank page with the text: You can only access this site from a mobile device.

What’s Unique?
The mobile site has features such as confessions, forums, contact list, mails and comments. With the new mobile site, users can download any mp3 music file available on the Naijapals music library to their phones, all for free. You can just search for your favorite artist on the application and you get free mp3 from the artist.
My Take
Another great feature from the guys at NaijaPals. Last year, they launched a browser companion (toolbar) which allows users to keep up with activities on Naijapals without necessarily being logged onto their desktop.
This feature attracted more users and I’m sure the new mobile feature will, as the mobile site already had over 2k hits from mobile devices (in about 2 hours after launch) from the Google Adsense screenshot sent my way.
What I like is that you can make easy downloads of MP3 songs from the Naijapals music library directly into your phone for free, instead of paying about 100/150 naira for each music you download like mobile operators like MTN and Glo will charge.
Nice. Just wondering. How common are monthly data plans in Nigeria? Because without a monthly plan 4 or 5 MB Mp3 file can quickly use up large chunks of your prepaid credits.
I have a mobile phone bt its not working on my phone.

I guess you meant Google Analytics, not Google Adsense
Nice story.
Nana, you can access the Internet from your mobile, via wifi if your device is wifi-enabled and you are within the coverage of a wifi network.
I access the internet via wifi most of the time and so paying for data charges is not an issue for me.
I want to be kept informed about new development.
[...] Legwork has taken me by surprise with these new and interesting features. This shows that the social networking scene in Nigeria has yet more and more places to explore. With this rebrand, my guess is that Legwork will be able to compete with social networking rival, Naijapals. [...]
