VEDA.com.ng Has Gone Live!

Just about one hour ago, VEDA Technology launched their homepage which features the 4 products they’ll be launching tomorrow at the Civic Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.

My guess is that the website is yet to be fully developed, as there are currently no pages or other links except for the latest news button, which takes you to media stories about VEDA. (Startups Nigeria’s article about VEDA was featured also).

According to VEDA’s website,

VEDA Technology Limited was born in Lagos, Nigeria. The founders understood the demand for premium personal computers by a new breed of consumers who need a platform tailor-made for their needs and interests. VEDA sees this growth and strives to enhance the quality of computing with its platforms.

Every VEDA product has one year warranty (labor and parts) inclusive that seems to last like a life time because even after it expires, we offer you unbelievable after sales service that helps us help you pamper your product keeping it in top notch condition always.

Was Nairahost Acquired By New CEO, Adeolu Akinyemi?

Update: We contacted Nairahost’s Emmanuel who emailed to say that Nairahost will release an official press statement later. We are eagerly looking forward to that.

I’m wondering how we missed the story about Nairahost appointing a Chief Executive Officer in January. But wait, didn’t they have a CEO before?

We didn’t know that Nairahost has faced a lot of problems regarding running the company smoothly, managing funny customers and financial limitations not until we saw the information posted on their blog.

Nairahost is the leading web hosting company in Nigeria founded in 2004 by Emmanuel Oluwatosin and Kayode Muyibi and two other people who we don’t know.

Nairahost recently sought for external funding (due to financial limitations, I guess) and in a deal that fetched them $500, 000 (about N85 million), according to information on their blog, they were able to appoint a CEO who’s supposed to oversea the company’s goals and visions.

Chukslist - Post Free Classified and Business Ads in Nigeria

Chukslist.com is a listing website designed specifically for Africa with an initial launch for Nigeria. The site allows users to create a listing of an item they would like to sell, and get contacted by potential buyers. Users can also create a listing with a skill set seeking for a job or real estate.

What are the features?

Like other classifieds sites, users will have to create an account in order to post an item. When you list an item, potential buyers can contact you with the contact information provided at sign up. Users are allowed to upload pictures of listings. The first picture is FREE, but they charge a small fee for additional pictures.

Another feature of chukslist.com allows businesses to create ads on the site. The ads are linked to the websites of the businesses placing the ads. They are currently running free ads for businesses.

What is Unique?

Searching and listing can be done by location, item or university. I think this is cool and unique since it’s a great and quick way to look around your university for a text book or random item you may need. Also, you can put up a listing searching for a specific item and be contacted by someone that has the item.
